Meet the Legacy Charters Crew
Three Captains. One Family. A Lifetime on the Water.
Legacy Charters is not a company. It is a family. The Masiero captains have been fishing together since before any of them had a license — and now they fish professionally, with the same passion and a whole lot more experience.

Captain Mike Masiero Sr.
Capt. Mike Sr. started fishing as a kid with his dad then build business from a single idea: share what he loved most about fishing with as many people as possible. He grew up on the Jersey Shore, started mating and captaining charters out of Manasquan inlet , and spent 30 plus years building a reputation as a captain who put clients on fish and made sure everyone had a great time doing it.
Along the way, he and the crew made deliveries up and down the East Coast and fished the waters off Africa and South America. In 2010, he brought the business south to Little River, South Carolina, and never looked back.
Today, Capt. Mike Sr. is still on the boat, still passionate about the fishery, and still proud that what he started is being carried forward by his sons and soon his 6 grandkids!
Captain Mike Masiero Jr.
Capt. Mike Jr. is partners in the organization with his father Mike Sr and grew up fishing with his father and grandfather Nick and has been a licensed USCG 100-ton Master Captain for years. He handles a lot of the fishing duties on the boat — rigging, technique, keeping the rods bent — and his communication style has earned consistent praise from guests who say he made the trip feel like a day out with friends, not a hired charter.
Guests consistently mention his local knowledge, his patience with kids and new anglers, never mind the fact that he genuinely enjoys what he does. That is not something you can fake on a boat.

Captain Kyle Masiero
Capt. Kyle rounds out the family operation, bringing the same USCG 100-ton credentials and the same love for fishing that runs through the whole family.
Although Kyle is a full time Fireman in Murrels Inlet now you may see him jump in to help when things get busy!

Our Story
Our family business journey started in the Northeast taking charters out of Barneget Bay on the New Jersey Shore. From there we fished up and down the east coast, making our way on trips off the African coast making boat deliveries and fishing along the way, and down to South America catching Sail Fish and Mahi just a few miles from the shoreline.
Our latest journey has lead us to Costa Rica where we help people create once in a lifetime fish stories.
For more info on a Costa Rica fishing adventure visit the Costa Rica tab or call us today.
We chose the Myrtle Beach Little River area for our home port for the great fishing opportunities it has to offer. Not only are our inshore creeks and marshes loaded with species like redfish, sea trout, Tarpon and more, but a short trip nearshore gives you the chance to get into Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel, Bull Reds, Sharks and more. To cap it off a run offshore to deeper reefs and wrecks or the Gulf Stream gives you the chance at Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, Grouper, Snapper, Wahoo and more.
We chose the name Legacy because thats what matters most in this world its not about day one or your last day its about everything in between. Our journey has led us down here and we hope that your family and friends will join us along the way, in hopes of creating a lasting memory, mark in your "legacy" that you can pass on. Theres not alot that can bring people together like a day on the water and as soon as you step foot on our boats you become part of our family, our journey, our legacy.
We thank you for giving us the opportunity to create a memory with you!
Capt. Mike Sr, Capt Mike Jr and Capt Kyle
